Wearable Art & Fashion Design

Are you bored by clothing designs? Do you find yourself thinking ‘I can design something better myself’? Could you imagine your designs being worn by people all over the world? This could be the course for you. As fashion students, you will produce a visual diary of fashion illustrations, applying colour theory and experimentation with different clothing materials. Students will get the opportunity to produce runway inspired designs.

Studio Areas explored may include:
·         Fashion Illustration
·         Garment /accessory making
·         Sewing
·         Costume making
·         Upcycling
·         Fabric/material design

Assessment
In this learning area, you will design and produce garments that may include jewellery and accessories, clothing and wearable art. You will also complete an analysis assignment, discussing runway looks using Arts language and an investigation where you study the practices of Australian and international fashion designers.
