This course explores the genre of Musical Theatre focusing on developing drama, singing and
dancing skills. Students are encouraged to initiate and hone performance skills in the class and in
front of an audience. The course encourages the development of important life skills such as
pubic speaking and teamwork.
The Musical Theatre course is primarily practical. However, students will also be required to write
reflections on their performances in the form of self/peer evaluations.
Studio areas explored may include
– Acting Skills
– Singing Skills – Lead / Chorus line
– Choreography
– Live Performance
Assessment
Students will be assessed on their preparation, content and their performance skills and talents.
