Welcome to the Year 9 Curriculum Handbook.
Year 9 is the first year where groups of electives are not SCSA mandated. In Years 7 and 8, students had the opportunity to try a variety of electives in the many different areas ranging across the Arts, Technologies and Italian. Moving into Year 9, students select 4 electives that run for the whole year. This builds on their experience in the previous years and allows for deeper learning to occur in these areas as students are able to learn and develop these skills for a longer period of time.
We encourage you to spend time reading through the different electives in this Handbook to ensure you are comfortable with your choice as the electives will run for the entire year and changes will not be possible next year.
